NEW Pattern /// Elliston Scarf

Elliston Scarf by Jane Richmond

For years and years I was a scarf gal. I knit and wore super long scarves, double wrapped around my neck, and always with fringe! Then I discovered cowls, and for years it was all about cowls. Last year I lived in my Garter Gaiter and the year before that it was my DK weight Annie.

This year, for whatever reason, I've been reaching for my scarves again. Maybe I like the way they look with my new boots, or it's possible I've secretly missed the fringe, or could it be that I love how the ends hang down and add extra insulation inside my winter coat? Whatever the reason, it lead me to a new design--an extra squishy, super bulky, incredibly fast knit with soft fluffy fringe!

In fact this knit is so fast, it can be completed in a weekend! If you have anyone on your last minute knit-list, why not whip up an Elliston Scarf! And to make it even easier to put an Elliston Scarf under the tree (or maybe gift the pattern to a special knitting friend, or to yourself?!)...

  1. This is too funny! I am getting those exact same boots for Christmas from my husband. He said "you'll finally have your knitters boots". Ha ha!! Thanks again for letting me test this pattern for you!

    1. Trish Blundstones have spread through our group like wild fire!!! It's hilarious, half of us have them! They are SO comfortable and keep your feet dry and warm. I have issues with my feet and need a proper sole so these have made a huge difference for me. So excited you'll be joining the club for Christmas, LOL.

And thanks again for testing, you're scarf looks amazing!! (Secretly hoping you get to keep it!)

  3. I'd love to know what yarn was used for the illustrated scarf ...

  4. What a gorgeous design!! I would love to give this scarf a try - do you think the pattern is suitable for beginners? My only successful project in knitting was a scarf in garter stitch. I'm wondering if this might be a good next project to tackle? I adore the chunky look, too - such a classic style - like something I'd wear for years!! :)

    1. This scarf is so easy! It does involve yarn overs and knitting two stitches together! As a beginner, I'm not sure if you've done either but this would be a great project to learn these basic stitches. So glad you like it :)

  5. Thanks so much for the encouragement, Jane!! I signed up for the Craftsy Knit Lab class a while back, and there are extra videos on there that show how to do basic stitches. I went ahead and purchased the pattern - I'm hoping that along with those videos, I can figure out the new stitches. :) I really love the color options of this yarn!!! Thank you again for the beautiful design - and for the little discount. Hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday!!

  6. I am VERY late to the party, apparently, but I really love this super chunky scarf!! I usually knit with fingering but every once in awhile it's SOOOO satisfying to knit something fast and bulky - I will keep this one in mind!! :)
